Dreams Lost

I woke up from a dream and realized it wasn’t true
I wished that it could have been, for she wouldn’t be so blue

In this dream I dreamt, she woke up happy and content
For not a day since we met, was there anything to resent

In all the time we’d been together, I’d never broke her heart
She woke up every morning with a smile from the start

I was always there to support her, I never let her down
On her beautiful face, you would never see a frown

But unfortunately, this was a dream, one that didn’t at all come true
That’s why we both lay here, feeling all so blue
