Dreams In a Jar

Dreams In a Jar

And what is it you prize so much
dreams in a jar she answered
you must never touch
but what if I need some,
some requisite respite
find your own jar girl
then fix its lid down tight
but will it be empty
airless dull
my baby imagine
you imagine it full
does it take long
you know
to get them all in
a lifetime my daughter
and now
dear girl
you must also begin...
but do remember this
and hear what I say
dreaming is fine
yet colourless grey
live as you must
without sorrow regret
keep your jar secret
and never forget
