Dreams

I fell asleep listening
to the sound of the rain
And when I closed my eyes
I saw your face

I thought I was replaying a memory
but something was different this time
your hood was down
and your aquamarine eyes shone

And your hair was slick with rain
you were smiling again
I was laughing
I don't recall why

And at that moment
you cut off my laugh
with a kiss
and the world melted away...

There was nothing but me
and you
It was the kiss I had always wanted
but had never gotten

And then I woke up...
and today I can't face you
without my cheeks flaming
and my head down

You looked at me strangely
but I pretended not to care
and then you looked away
leaving me

Yearning for you
