Notes About The Poem

Dreams

when dreams die, death isn't far
then hope leaves floating in a jar
search drawers cluttered closets too
neither are found 

dreams scattered to the winds
but hope remained
someday, someday, in the future
was the constant refrain

health gone lost by the way
arthritis impedes talents waylaid
days there are hopes that health will come
then a sadness engulfs like a drum

somewhere enthusiasm disappeared 
did someone else pick it up
or is it like the dust off tires by the roadside
has depression now settled in

Hiya Sharma December 4, 2023 at 11:35 PM Sigh, I've been through this perpetual state of extremely bad health, depression and many other things. I can relate with these words to the core.. Especially, how you've said about dreams & hopes fading away. There's a saying that a person can survive few days without food and water and some moments without oxygen, but without hope, it only takes a millisecond to pull their souls out.. The Situation December 2, 2023 at 3:00 PM I can relate to this. B12 vitamins can work miracles. as for this piece it speaks in a poetic way. In the art we see that we are not alone. Sara Kendrick December 3, 2023 at 3:32 AM TS, I put a dropper full of B12 under my tongue occasionally, but if I use it every day I will start to gain weight which is a negative in my situation. LOL..I am already about 40 lbs. to heavy. Thanks for the kind review of my work. Sara K
