Dreaming Tears of Joy

awakened
by the saltiness
i felt wet memories
flowing down my cheeks
kissing my lips
teasing my tongue—
a briny tingling
that coughed up
shared cherished moments

though i miss you
how sweet it is
that dreams can release
tears of joy that grief
often seeks to dam

rest well
my sweet one—
may your spirit continue
to delight me...
