Dreaming

Sometimes overwhelming life gives so much
Unable to understand it's bewildering touch
I dream of sailing away to a distant shore
Envisioning new places I might explore
Eyes closing to the world engulfed by imagination
Listening to waves crash savoring new sensation
Blanket of warmth from the noon day sun
Slipping off shoes to feel the warm sand as I run
Loosening the ties of long pulled back hair
Letting it flow in the breeze from the ocean air
Bending to touch what's left on shore from the sea
Savoring the scents and feeling glorious and free
Awaken to the reality not so easily done
I'd rather be enjoying the salty air and sun
