Dreamers and Poets
Close your eyes my friend and you might once again
hear our laughter clinging to the breeze that moves through the open windows of childhood memories.
Take a deep breath and smell the sweet scent of alfalfa dancing down Fourth Street at dusk, the apple blossoms of spring, or the rich earthy scent of freshly turned black gumbo soil.
See the soft blue flicker of streetlights as they spark life into our childhood imaginations and cultivate our inspirations.
Let your soul drift back to the innocence that is your birthright. Leave behind the boundaries of rich vs poor, political righteousness, or religious preference.
We once were those children of that twilight, the unburdened guardians of summer; we were the future springing to life at that moment.
We are poets that have dared to
Dream
