Dreamer

Dreamer When the memories overtake and the tears threaten to fall I turn my face into the wind, letting its icy fingers grip me Drying the drops falling down my cheeks The cold stings and the salt air burns my eyes The sun dips its head in recognition of my grief as darkness starts closing in. All I can hear is the crashing of the waves I’m waiting for the green flash as the sun says good night. A cold warmth in a moment of loneliness. Bare feet sinking into ice cold wet sand My footprints disappearing with the waves Like the memories and dreams in my head as they vanish. Life steals away your youth and your body grows old. But the memories are timeless The dreams are endless Life is a gift, reach out and run with it.

I read this and felt a little guilty. I've been not so kind lately. Thanks Chelci.

A gentle, sweet poem, that expresses a sentiment held dear to my heart too, Patti.

I had to read the title to understand what was happening, and I still liked the flow of this poem before I had any idea, John.

Profoundly accurate in so many scary, ways. Well done, Mike. Well said.

Your last line should be memorized by every person who ever lived in every country, in every possible sense of the word life.
