Dreamed To Be An Eagle

A dream I had last night

So vivid and so true,

An Eagle I was, flying

Over places I knew


My wings had stretched wide 

To lift me to the sky 

To view beauty from above 

As far as could see, my eye


I soared over mountains 

And valleys of green

Such splendor and such beauty 

My soul had never seen
 

Uninterruptedly for hours

Through the air I just flew 

Enjoying every second

Till the dawn near drew


Then I opened my eyes

And saw human still to be 

Saddened my heart I found  

For wasn’t as the Eagle free!*

Yes, yes, this is marvelous! How many times was I dreaming of flying when as a child was climbing the mountains of my village called "EAGLE". Thank you dearest, Anne-Lise for your visit and generosity. Hugs!

I always marveled the Eagle. The village I was born bears is named after the bird: Eagle! Thank you for liking it dear, Alexis!

I think you are right my friend, Richard but at my age is better to pass messages that might make someone think for I have no time to write long poems, on the other hand there are so many much better poets than me that my contribution is not missed! Thank you!

`SWEET `7...flying dreams are the best and I do not think you should go back to any "usual style"...cause I really dig this, my wise friend of hidden talents!!This is such a beautiful quatrain that stirs up such awesome imagery of a minute in a Eagle's adventures, peaceful day!!Bravo, Bravo!!
