Dream of a Hot Summer Day

The winter was so bitterly cold I longed for a hot summer day, Wishing for the sun so gold, To warm all my aches away. I longed for a hot summer day, When I could visit the beach, To warm all my aches away, Eating sweet yellow peach. When I could visit the beach, Dipping into the water blue; Eating sweet yellow peach - Which spring so kindly grew! Dipping into the water blue, Walking under trees of green, Which spring so kindly grew, In the shade I languidly lean. Walking under trees of green, Wishing for the sun so gold, In the shade I languidly lean - The winter was so bitterly cold.
