Dream Destination
I have flown to many climes of the world,
Their beauty before my eyes has unfurled,
But one destination dear in my dream
Outshines the rest like clear morning sunbeams.
It`s a land where the serpentine shoreline,
Cream-hued, stretching as far as the eye line,
Is greeted by whitish sandy beaches,
Where under verdant palm trees I can feast.
On its beach, I can bask in the warm sun,
Mark my footprint on the white sand for fun,
Engage in windsurfing, parasailing,
Practise snorkelling or scuba diving.
When tired after a swim, I can lie free
On shore in shade of a filao tree,
Lulled by rustling of the breeze on green leaves
And sweet music of waves, in dreams conceived.
That dream place is an island, from heaven
Dropped in mid of the Indian Ocean,
Named Mauritius, land of sun, sand and sea,
For destined visitors who wish to see.
