Dream Come True

DREAM COME TRUE

In distant times, with brighter skies
we sang the songs that soothed the stars
you have the power to weave words into magic
stars of wonder, stars of night

Sparks that fell from perfect light
to gaze upon and desire, as I reach out to touch you
old friends meet again, but always fragile while they last
release the regrets of yesterday, refuse the fears of tomorrow

And receive instead, the peace of today, as we journey through paradise
our bodies wrapped in a golden shroud, having our minds roam
dreaming endlessly, making plans, with no set direction
not worrying about what the future holds, just knowing there’s a connection

Later counting the stars, while sharing chocolate kisses,
you are quality…exquisitely rare and breathtaking
I am fortunate to know of your existence,
and blessed to have you as part of my life

As your friend, I can help you discover and understand
your delicate power seldom shown, we can share our experiences and
through our wisdom, learn the unknown, its words so soft and sweet
a slow, steady song it plays upon the nights wind, your heart’s lyrics ride

Lovely melodies and notes, harps of moonlight ivory
dance with the joyous light, in sterile cold, you glisten
a soft smile about your lips, I fail to taste
there is a place deep inside of you, move across your thoughts.
I notice in the course of my day, you are as light as a butterfly
you’re a special kind of lady, just as from a dream, I awoke.
