Dream Book
Dream book
my box has been empty for many years
today I filled it with paper of many reams,
perhaps I will draw or make a scrapbook
I really want to write and compile my dreams.
pens and ink bottles have been kept awhile
will need to dust and see what’s good
perhaps I will use lead which is fine and ready
comes with an eraser so maybe I should.
never stored my dreams always let them slip through
seems as though they sped off when after I woke
didn’t remember to put them in a jar to save
I recall faint echoes from when someone who spoke.
I could do a composite that would be a good start
maybe I’ll find just who was in my dream
one never knows the outcome if one should wake
the images go awry, so it may seem.
If I can put in my scenario and then close the book
I can go back later to edit and finish the page
must keep my eyes close and drift off in the dark
tune in and scramble back to the deeper sleep stage
will it become a nightmare if I get in to close
or take me to my playground to begin life again
a dream story book can take me back in time
visions of the past tell me where I had been.
getting on board the dream flight is an adventure
no ticket to buy and most comfortable seat to boot
come as you may, enjoy and stay for awhile
a nice getaway with just only a short commute.
gathered memories can be favored into your mind
and then spread out among the pages for reflection
sometimes dreams repeat themselves to divulge inner feelings
now once all have been bound there’ll be dreams in a collection.
