Dream Across the Sky

While floating on an ev’ning’s dusky cloud,
I close my eyes and dream across the sky,
To where horizons are a pinky shroud
Around the sun that fades without a sigh.
My fingers reach to touch the amber glow,
To feel the final embers of the day,
Although the night is falling soft and slow,
I want to savour the last twilight ray.
The setting sun that takes me to my place,
Where I can see beyond the midnight blue,
My sunset frees my mind to gently embrace,
Those sacred things my soul has come to view.
Refreshed and new I call the old ones in,
And another new day can now begin.
