Dream
My dream is just around the corner
Out of sight and still out of reach
Everyday my feet get heavier
It drags when I want to sprint
My once feather stuffed heart
Now filled with lead that aches of loneliness
My dream doesn’t rest easily on my pillow any more
It sits heavily on my shoulder
Loosely around my neck
For the attention of the world
Who paused to admire and criticise
To some it lay beautifully clearly meant for me
To others, many others its ill-ly fit and to be left behind
But I cannot shed my dream
I cannot leave it behind on dented pillow
Where fantasy dreams burns away with the morning light
So it rolls with me out of bed
In to the world to play hide and seek
Hiding just around the corner
My dream waits patiently to be found
Each day I seek less
Each day my spirit flutters less
The prospect of finding my dream, a diming light
Time passes by faster nowadays
Like death collect souls, time collect dreams
Each day time whisper to me, let me collect your dream
Let me stack it among the broken and forgotten dreams
Each day its whisper grow louder and still louder
So much so that when reality comes knocking
Or someone talks to me
They find me vacant and deaf
As I distant myself from time
Deafen my ears to its scream
In the bid to keep my dream a life
So my dream stays just around the corner
Out of sight and out of reach
Most days my feet are heavier
It drags when I want to sprint
But today my youthful heart beats
Feather light I chase, reaching for my dreams
