Dream

Shine not the sun
for the brightness of the day
helps drive the happiness 
of my dream away

Stay please the dark,
and its' silent partner sleep
That brings my heart's desire 
for my mind to keep.

With darkness black
no loneliness or despair.
I see her lovely face,
I dream that she could care.

The night now gone,
now brightly shines the sun.
Her lovely face no more,
now my dream is done.

So weep my heart!
Till darkness comes again,
and come the dreams to me
of what we might have been
