Drawn In To Die

Midnight in village,
No moon, no power,
Lamp lit up by granny
Flickered with hope;

Lured by its flame,
Moths spiral around,
Making loops and coils
Only to get burnt.

Dear Ani, a powerful picture of a natural sight of doom - portrayed realistically without using any adjectives - a challenge met convincingly. Love and best wishes ~ Mala

Dearest Ani, your splendid pen portrays a beguiling fatal attraction. The beauty of false hope is an alluring doom for some. A pensive and poignant piece that is potent even without adjectives - such is the lovely strength and artistry of your poetic gift. Best wishes for a win and warmest wishes for you, my sweet friend.. ~Susan

Anitha, Loveliness in contemplation in a poem's moonless night. Attraction to a flickering beauty, surely no better way to die. -Richard

Quite common these days. Outages take place all the time. Very picturesque. Hugs.
