Draw a Smile
There once was a girl
and she loved to draw
She started to get really good
so the people around her couldn't tell
if what she had drawn
was real or fake
Everyday
she would look in the mirror
and draw a smile on her face
she'd add the twinkle in her eyes
and the laugh lines on her cheeks
She would cover up the trail on her face
that the tears had left behind
She would cover up the worry
that showed on her forehead
She would cover up the tiredness
that illuminated across her face
As she walked around
people saw her face and assumed everything was okay
But it wasn't
It hadn't been for a long time
