Dragons, Dragonflies and a Huffle Wink
It was Monday morning blahs agog
when I rose to walk my little dog.
Barely was the sun arising
while in the distance clouds passed by spying
Playing peek a boo in the morning rays
with drops of dew lay on the grass in play
but all the while I walked slow and half asleep
to gather in the light and warmth that creeped,
High up in the pale blue sky,
the dragons were on the fly
I stopped to watch
the play a cumulus hopscotch.
My little dog spied his own attractions
as dragonflies drew his attentive distractions
and thru the grass we sprint and ran in sync
lest we come across some unseen huffle wink.
There in the shadows something did move
and surprised we were by nothing we could prove
A Huffle Wink
large and blushing rosy pink
sent us quickly looking back in disbelief
as the two of us escaped its grasp to our relief.
