Amazing how much flags mean to us, isn't it?! When I see the Blue-and-White flag of Israel and hear their National Anthem playing, tears just well up in my eyes... When I see the Palestinian flag waved at protest marches by men brandishing MK-47s, not so much... I'm human, I guess, with all the prejudices and biases that come with the species... Sad to think about, Maureen. There is a curve, of folks on one end -strict straight other end -strict gay and the middle has an endless degree of variation. Sexuality is all kinds of variations, and nuances, what can you do?

Maybe I am so far "out of the loop" that i miss most of the situations that I hear about. Poetry has been a haven and a cathartic release for me therefore it is very disconcerting to hear that that relief is being denied to poets on an "alleged" poetry site...for poetry is the language of the heart....let us not drive a spear into it.

oh, this is so sad, maureen! i know that many people are no longer on the site, but i didn't realize that people have left for being harrassed for those reasons. there is so much meanness and hatred in the world that it's terrible to realize that even poets can't respect each other's differences...
