Dr. Pangloss?

DR. PANGLOSS?

Cooler today dear friends
No wind
Humidity 86
Temperature expected in the mid-80s
The leaf crowd hangs
                               motionless silent
Even the birds sense the lull
One hears an occasional chirp
In these lulls though these periods of inactivity
The mind is able to focus
A good mind will offer thanks not dreading change
A troubled mind it seems is forever looking forward
And backed by a roiling sea of past and present events
only temporarily stilled will invent things that may
never happen places and people with dirty faces
                              raggedly clothed
A good rational mind will not invent
But see the day for what it is
Will live in the moment
Giving thanks for a beautiful world

Hi Dave :) Glad to know the weather's cooler over there-- over here it's still pretty hot though... quite an uplifting write you have here -- I'm really enjoying your writes although I have no idea who this Dr. Pangloss guy is...btw happy that my write made you want to visit Hawaii even if your son wanted to leave, lol and as for my other write-- feel free to imagine those birds as gulls, they can definitely be any bird you want ;) -- enjoy your cool day now :) -- nikko :)

Great idea, living in the moment, Daver. You write these free verse poems so well. Wish I heard more from you lately! thanks for your fun replies on jellyfish and that island name. I forgot it now myself. It is the real name for Forbidden Island which was a picture in Linda's photo gallery (for her last contest) Luv, Andrea

Excellent job Daver. And thanks for your comments, always appreciated. Your technique in writing Daver, that I was talking about is your ability to write with amazing clarity of intent, in expressing your thoughts. Agape, Moses

How wonderful that your weather has cooled down a bit, Daver! Indeed, a good mind is thankful and doesn't dread change. It's the troubled minds that are "inventive." Like the way you see the world so objectively, dear friend. Love, Carolyn
