Line Gauthier Poet Free verse

Downward Spin

upbeat thoughts
dancing in my head
have given way
to clouds menacing
cluttering my brain

wish I could believe
a few sunrays
could melt away the ice
built up 'round my heart

never again sliding down
the old unfathomable abyss
