Downward Spin

upbeat thoughts
dancing in my head
have given way
to clouds menacing
cluttering my brain

wish I could believe
a few sunrays
could melt away the ice
built up 'round my heart

never again sliding down
the old unfathomable abyss

I am optimistic that you are "not sliding down that unfathomable abyss" and if you are, there will be a more palatable, lovely return trip, my friend.

A most moving poem Line, describing the isolation and hopelessness of mental illness. Kindest thoughts Ann xx
