Stuffed animals are commissioned to cloak, deflect and defend milk cartons are replaced by a fifth of mayhem, fear becomes a dependable friend. They survivors of a downbringing often suffer from post-traumatic stress syndrome with subsequent trust and commitment issues. Have patience with these scarred angels balm their many wounds with understanding or at least pretend you give a damn. Repair and buttress their fractured foundation offer a safe place for them to land. At times you may have to be the parent that they never were destined to have.
