Down To Nothing
DOWN TO NOTHING
I was down to nothing, sinking very low;
God was up to something, ready then to go.
I was down to nothing, deep in sin’s dark pit;
God was up to something He could do for it.
I was down to nothing, no hope there for me;
God was up to something on Mount Calvary.
All I had was nothing--no good works I claimed;
God had all I needed--Jesus was His name!
He knew I had nothing, that is why He died
To make this poor sinner clean and justified!
God took all my “nothing” through His wondrous love
And gave me a “something”: home in heaven above!
So when I’m down to nothing, deep in dark despair,
God is up to something--He’ll be with me there!
