Down Falls the Crown
Take all I am
Into your heart
And swallow my poison
Past your lips
Drink it down
Drink me all down
Into your soul
Till you breathe
Your last breath
Look into my eyes
For there you’ll see
Into the black core
Of my raging river
I try to quiet
The devil in me
Before I lose
You forever
Why do I want
To crucify you
To make myself
Feel better
My halo fits
A little too tight
And my wings
Are old and wilted
My trumpet no longer
Makes a sound
Down falls the crown
