Notes About The Poem

Down East

In the hills of sunday sunrise
Eastern township churches stand steeple heights
Loud summer bells chime fervently

it is funny but these bells do seem to beg for more attention in the summer, perhaps it is because we are more often outside and hear them more clearly. Nicely done.

I love being in the park when the bells are chiming, a layered chorus. Lovely haiku :) xomo!
