Down, Down, Down the Rabbit Hole
I remember a time when I surfaced to breathe
and the air outside was as pure as can be
I remember a time when life was so simple
that the stars in the sky were all full of twinkle
The world changed volte-face and I lost my pace
the tea cups were bare and Alice was spent
I searched for my dreams with mad discontent
as the moon in the sky turned to concrete cement
One summer day the tea party ended
and needless to say I lost the gold key
Into the cave I fell and I fended
as the sun without light held nothing for me
I remember a time when freedom was mine
without the amends, I never consigned.
