Doubts Shed

Was she to be blamed? Nah! "He would forever remain mine" Hadn't she claimed. But her confidence Was given literally a body blow Openly cheating on her Making her feel 'down and low' She carried this 'Failed wife' burden all through 'Why did I marry in such haste?' She would rue Not just this She started eyeing all with suspicion According to her There was no exception Even when she fell a second time And he wasn't the usual, dozen to a dime He often asked her to shed How could she Be so open about her modesty? And that too without the essential 'trust' But he showed childlike obstinacy, Saying it's a 'must' Over the period she felt comfortable Till one fine day She was able.... Peeling one by one The flimsy top, the red hot lingerie It was for him to see That finally all her doubts had been shed And amazed he was Mesmerized by the beauty of his beloved.
