Double Vision

When I look into the mirror What on earth do my eyes see I can see an old man staring At a young man that is me How I wish that this reflection Was not so truthful and so bold In my mind I still play marbles But my reflection says I’m old Where have those busy years gone That consisted of my life Seems like only yesterday dear When you first became my wife Quickly now the evening shadow Has fallen over youthful face I surrender to my plight now And grow older with some grace

Good day Robert, I'm feeling this poem, as if it was me staring into the mirror. My double vision, is the only thing that keeps telling me that I'm getting old. Still a kid at heart,... I guess at the end, I don't mind gracing with age... Life is good, and I was the bomb when playing marbles... love ~LINDA

Age is relative to how old your feel. But I understand all too well, the looking glass deal. So glad that you have reconciled the grace it take's to live. When daily affermations in the silvering are a bit hard to forgive. Peace. :)

We all have to age gracefully like a vintage wine. I enjoyed this read.
