The Dutch were

1 of the first

To voyage , journey and discover

The high seas because they used

Windmills to mechanically power saws

Enabling them to built ship's quicker
faster and more efficiently

So had a far superior naval fleet

New York
Was
New Amsterdam

Dutch East India Company

Tulips were the 1st commodity traded

Ergo the Stock Exchange Market

The Carrot was is in fact

Purple in colour it's a bulb

They made it and turned it into

Orange in colour

Most of the majority of the Netherlands

They reclaimed built canals in order

To take the land back

And also in the process

Made it fertile afterwards enough

To farm and live off prosperously

And is progressive and religiously tolerant

Not bad and pretty impressive

All things being considered

Damn! I’m sorry to hear that Christopher, I hope it’s below the knee; I’ve a couple of mad nieces too, but don’t see them very much, that’s great heading off to SA for a summer crimbo, yeah us Irish fought in many wars all over the world when part of the United Kingdom, some stayed on and settled, there was very little opportunities over here back in the day!

So glad that things have gotten better and changed .. I never grew up with it so technically I never had the foggiest clue or idea what it was all about. Made absolutely no sense to me at all. Yeah got 3 nieces who I think of as my own. Practically brought them up before moving back

Just booked tickets earlier to go to S.A for Chrimbo Sir . Marius came off his Motorbike and has just had his leg amputated . Yeah our Kayleigh is an absolute legend / nutter . She was only driving behind him when he hit head on . S.A has a massive Irish community after the Boer War a load of them deserted and stayed behind

Kayleigh Kruger Is one of the best names I’ve ever heard in my life, you mention Kayleigh in many of your poems but I had no idea her surname was Kruger, I know you are very close to her, she sounds like a great kid, yeah religion had this country ruined for hundreds of years, it’s grand in the south now, but NI is still very divided and dangerous in certain areas

Don't quite know for sure Sir think I was probably just reminiscing about the couple of years I spent living over there. Here's 1 for you my brother in law Marius is a proper Boer or as we used to call them Dutchman. 1 of my nieces is called Kayleigh Kruger . In South Africa I used to play Scratch League Golf and in the Irish Scottish League as well. I don't know why but my Dad because he was a Cat - Lick from Liverpool called Flaherty as he used to call them. He was somehow inducted into or was granted honorary Irish status . 1st time I had idea or clue about Religion and the fact a guy from N.I wasn't considered coucher

Very cool info, especially about the powered saws. Tulip mania, one of the first booms and busts!
