Doorway
Can you see it?
Close your eyes and just imagine
A doorway beckoning
whispering your name
enticing you with sight and sound
with touch and scent alluring you
drawing you in with every step;
a mesmerizing hypnotic spell
singing in the distant paths
between the roses and the honeysuckle
walkways lined with fragrant lilies rising
trumpeting the journey through time;
an eternal spring
bursting with new life, new sounds
a garden for eternity
ever in bloom, wafting perfumed dreams
and memories revived of love and hope and dreams;
take a step
then one and two
through the looking glass
of all the promises made and kept
here, safe within your mind and heart
through the doorway.
