Don'T Wait For the Storm To Be Over
Don't wait for the storm to be over
Learn to dance in the rain.
The storm will be good for the clover
As dancing is good for the brain.
The heart is at best just a rover
Loving to go cross the grain.
Don't wait for the storm to be over
Learn to dance in the rain.
Don't wait for the fire to die down
Get out your marshmallow sticks.
Flames cleaned the rust out of Chi Town
Replacing the wood shacks with bricks.
You see the stars when you lie down
Getting your open sky fix.
Don't wait for the fire to die down
Get out your marshmallow sticks.
Don't wait for someone to invite you
Learn to strike out on your own.
The smallest of things can excite you
Next thing you know, you have flown.
The storm and the fire rage despite you
You'll see that you're never alone.
Don't wait for someone to invite you
Learn to strike out on your own.
Don't stand in the doorway and wonder
If this is the time to go
Move out in spite of the thunder
Move out against the flow.
The storm and the rain cannot stop you
As long as you keep moving on.
And all those who think they can top you
Will look out and you'll be gone.
