Don'T Quit
Winners do not quit; and quitters do not win.
I once read a story of a middle ages warrior
who was being held prisoner. While in prison,
he observed an ant seeking to carry a grain
of corn up a wall. The warrior counted 69
continuous times that the ant failed in his attempt,
but on the 70th attempt to scale the wall with
the corn, he succeed. THE ANT NEVER QUIT.
When an 8th grader, I was on the basketball
team at my school. As a member of the team,
I learned valuable life lessons about winning
and losing. We lost most of our games that year,
but WE NEVER QUIT. 50 plus years later, I very vividly
remember two games, one of which we lost and the
other one that we won.
Winners may change direction or shift their gears, but
THEY DO NOT QUIT. I remember 5 numbers. 52 to 12
was the score of the game we lost.; but WE NEVER QUIT.
4 represents the points I scored in the game we won.
4 might sound like mediocre points, but I NEVER QUIT.
