Don'T Mind Me

Don't mind me
I was just hoping you made a mistake
Heart still reeling thinking
Not knowing what was at stake
Don't mind me
I thought I meant enough for a call
a dear John letter
Writing on the wall
Don't mind me
you wanted to be free
Was that it
 or was it just me
Don't mind me
Silence speaks
Nothing left to say
Don't mind me
Spared No sorrow
Given no tomorrow
 in our loves end
 I'm Just a name now
 not even a friend

Your poem is so sad but, then, it tells a story often repeated and is needed. I feel your pain, David, and that's what a good poem does...evokes empathy.
