Don’t Listen
Others predetermined your future
Rendered you a statistic
Along with the application of undesirable labels
of your being
Told you what you couldn’t be
And never would be
They see you now
To their dismay and underestimation
You made a decision
And chose not to listen
You chose to love yourself
Not allowing others' opinions
And negativity
Navigate your destination
You’ve worked hard
Achieved your goal
Yes, you’ve arrived
Never changing who you are
Standing strong, head held high
I applaud you
For not listening
