Don'T Let Your Heart Do the Talking

Modern times, modern people
Hypocrisy, sham, deceit and lies
Quick ‘Hellos’, quicker ‘Byes’
Sane advice- ‘Follow the flow and
Don’t ever let your heart do the talking’
But didn’t heed it, thought didn’t need it
After all, she was in love with me
She claimed, she understood me well
And so I shared everything with her
She made me believe she had accepted me,
Accepted me with all my limitations
It was so, so thrilling, so ecstatic
That feeling of finding ‘True Love’
And then one day
She just vanished
Vanished clean from the town
Not just from the town
It appeared from the globe itself
But she didn’t vanish from
From my memory
My thoughts could not banish her
Now left alone with my solitude
I keep on asking myself,
“Did I pay the price of
Letting my heart do the talking?”

If you did pay the price for letting your heart do the talking, she was not the wonderful woman you thought she was. There is someone else out there who will appreciate and love this about you. Keep looking, and keep writing. A very nice write, Vijai.
