Don'T Leave

When you leave, take me with you When you close your eyes and begin to drift, I'll curl up next to you, right there on the narrow bed Let the others complain... I'll drown out the sounds of the machines whirring and the footsteps coming and going with my whispers We'll talk about the days of wine and kisses and walks among the wild daisies and dancing leaves And with every squeeze of our fingers clasped together, our lips will remember meeting in random places that bear the imprint of our love forever Your heart beats my name and mine beats yours It's our song, can you hear it? No one else needs to understand, do they? Not now Please don't leave me behind I'll grow so tired from endlessly looking for you and listening for the sound of your voice I'm frightened I'll forget what its like to feel alive without you as my guide, right by my side When you leave, take me with you and we'll walk together through the dark starlit alleyway that calls to you You can show me the way and leave me a key to where you'll be And promise to stay until I arrive Don't leave...
