Don'T Hurt Like Me

I never meant for you to fall
Never wanted you to hurt like me
So I talked you into taking down your wall
To only make you see
Love is a splendor thing, love is meant to be
I wanted to lift you up high
So high you could touch the sky
And didn't want you to come down
Hoped you would spread your wings to fly and not stay earth bound
Now crying in silence is your only sound
And pain in your heart is all that remains
But you will overcome to win another day
You believe you have nothing to gain
And now you're hurting just as me and sadly exactly the same
Damn it why does life play these stupid games
But you can rise above it as long as you try
It's okay to feel broken and it's okay to cry
But don't be down for long
You have to be are you are going to stay strong
Loving him is not wrong
he will see soon enough just where he belongs
You have to make your own mistakes
Chances they are there for the taking
But I wish you didn't have to hurt like me and hope you don't leave your heart forsaken

There are times when we need to help others and give a hand. This is just a natural way of life as God has helped us. I like the flow of the words in this poem and the essence of your thoughts. As stated, love is always a splendid thing. Great job! ~Joseph
