Dont Glitz the Politics

How lovely the long dress,
expressive next to the suits.
I’m not a prude, but
I believe the news-crew
should properly be dressed.

Why should I be looking
at the ladies legs; the men
aren’t dangling theirs
by wearing shorts.

Be proper, pretty, handsome,
but build up
the story; don’t glitz
the politics.

What’s happened to decorum?
What’s happened, Miss Manners?

For some of the shows its okay,
but only if men are likewise arrayed.
Just my opinion.

We lost all manners of decent dress. In Malta they wear mini shorts and dresses with deep clefts. Foreigners think they can do anything they want.

Great job, Kim! Your poem is both beautiful and thought-provoking. It reminds us that reporters should not be the center of attention, but instead should focus on bringing the story back to the audience. Well said!

It’s not only the displaying of legs, why is it some lady tv presenters have to wear low cut dresses displaying their chests, they certainly don’t impress. Well said Kim. Belle

I agree. You don’t see the men displaying their chests.

Mine too... The reporter should not be the story. Re-port = Carry back, not 'steal the show!' Great point, Kim!
