Don'T Dawdle, Lil' Flower

She breaks away and builds the framework
And dances outside of the lines
"Consider the future, don't dawdle, lil' flower"
But she ignores their fears and signs
Like a bird that knows no direction
Or a horse who runs 'gainst the wind
But can still remember a life once lived
She lives a life unattached - unpinned
From the life given to her by her fathers
Who only said one meaningful phrase
'Consider the future, don't dawdle, lil' flower"
No good intentions, no love, no praise.
And here, still building the framework
Of a world that just might collapse
But could it lead to a greater life?
Outside of their lies and their traps.
Dance away, don't dawdle lil' flower
Build the framework of a life untamed
Like a bird that knows no direction
A work of art, a beauty - unashamed.

I love this advice and love the fact that she "dances outside of the lines" and will very likely continue to. A very lovely poem, Juli-Michelle. Love it.

If my interpretation is correct this is about chasing a dream. In which case it is a most enjoyable read. If not please don't burst my bubble. I liked the poem, Juli-Michelle.
