Dont Be a Jerk

When a poet writes
It's not just words with ink
Not just words on paper
When a poet writes
They spill their hearts
Leaving their souls open

They put it there so boldly
So everyone can see
It isn't always easy
To listen to the critique
But still they have to share
For their feelings run so deep

So please remember always
When someone shares their work
It's coming from their most inner fears
They're opening up a precious place
So please don't be a jerk
