Listen to poem:

Donkey Donkey

Finding a cassette tape from 1962,
Gave me the idea of rerecording it for you.
Hearing our melodic childhood voices soar,
I wept as magical memories came to the fore.
Just sharing with you makes me love him more.

Jean I enjoyed this ABC poem. I remember my ride on a donkey in Greece. I found it to be thrilling. Have a nice evening my friend.

Sara, so nice of you to say. Thank you. No, I must look for it on YouTube. When you say "outstanding poet" ,my inclination is to look over my shoulder to see who you might be talking to....

Thank you so much Greg. I appreciate your praise. My father was wonderful with children, but useless with teenagers. None of us could relate to him then. Thankfully, towards the end of his life, we became very close again. As adults, it was even more wonderful. May he rest in peace.

Not twins exactly Jo, but Irish twins. The boys are the same age for six days. All my life, Daddy would occasionally ask me "What does the donkey say Jeaniemac?" A little in house joke we shared. Thank you for taking the time to listen.

Good afternoon Sunshine. I have made 20 short recordings from the tape and sent them on to the different siblings involved. A few diamonds for each of us. Lovely to see you today.

Good morning Vijay. I was 2 years and 10 months old. My father was a musician with a music shop. The rest of the tape was of us four taking turns to sing as he accompanied us on accordion.
