Dominion

We find a refuge in our destiny -
how easy to our power so negate
when deep desire and truth do not relate,
not thrown by force of will nor silent plea,
and claim by past, the rest we can foresee.
No future is but that which we create
when what we scorn and what we consecrate
determine if preserved or if set free.

So faith in love, so hope, so happiness
are ever present down each wearied course,
and in the mind remaining unaware
unknown will stay; let simple thought caress
the tired face of desperate remorse
deserving naught but bliss beyond compare.
