It takes courage and fortitude to muster the strength to walk away, seek help, and commit to change. The prospect in many cases of being homeless with children and having to hide from the aggressor can seem worse than staying and suffering. More has to be done. We spend countless millions to equip armies with weapons to protect our citizens. Its time we sent some of those millions to protect our battered women and children. Your gut-wrenching poem is a cry for help for them Dearest Karen. Accolades. A fave from me

I do agree Karen, but I feel the need for refuges would be far greater for women and children than for men, but no doubt a man left to flee with his children from a violent relationship, would also deserve assistance.

Oh Karen such a truly gruesome but real sadly undeniable unfortunate story . Tragic , Sad , Cruel , Sadistic , Perverted I am at heart a pacifist and deplore Violence in any form. But certain Crimes are so deplorable and go against the very fiber of human nature. Such as Crimes against Children , Women and the Elderly. In such cases I am willing to fore-go my morality Because such heinous actions prove beyond a shadow of a doubt. Such a stunning lack of humanity they themselves are not

Nothing Karen I love and value and treasure more in my life Than happily being willing to be able and admit when I am and have got something wrong I don't see absolutely no point in living if you are so deluded you actually believe you are right and know everything

Yes agree Karen Mam And thank you for your comment As it instantaneously made me have a rethink about my previous comment and thought process given what you said about a man the victim in this case Violence is violence and that alone is the Crime And on the basis of non descrimination and placing anyone or any persons life of greater value . So thank you Karen Mam very much indeed for teaching me something a new valuable lesson i learned today . That will serve me well in the future

It is sad and today on the news a woman stabbed her husband. Men can be victims too! Sorry for all the victims and penalties for all offenders should be steep.

What first seems to be love, exposes itself as hate. This is the worst kind of lie for cowards to hide behind. This poem is a call for abused people to escape their abuser.

I think there needs to be tougher laws on domestic violence.. sadly too many suffer and too little is done about it.. You expressed it very well..

Agreed. I use to volunteer at a center for victims and the littlest infants affected break your heart. They are too scared to crawl or cry out. Thanks for reading Silent One.
