Dolores

AKA the saint from Arichat
Devoted wife to Johnny
Beloved mother and grand-mother
Kindness exuding from every pore
A smile and kind word for everyone

Lover of family reunions
Any reason for a card game or party
Prize-winning baker of pies galore
Apple, date, blueberry, custard
Raisin, strawberry, lemon meringue
Date cookies and tea biscuits
Homemade bread and buns
Even made the best baked beans

Last rites given three times
The Lord finally couldn’t wait
And gently took her

As we recall those open arms and warmest hugs
We get that little taste of the welcome
Awaiting us when our turn comes
To knock at heaven’s gate
