Doggy Gratitude

DOGGY GRATITUDE

Son, you are my hero, so brave and so young.
You know son, if your mama saw you burst into
That room on fire like that
She’d be very annoyed.
And I would too, if you were one of my kids.
I’m ten years old - in dog years I’m old enough to be your mother.
So come here and let me fix that cut on your head.
You’re a great careless lump and you never take care of yourself,
Just like your father when he was a fireman.
I can’t send you back to your mum looking like that -
So just sit still while I lick your dirty face.
And just before you go back to work
Let me give you a big kiss for saving me and the kids.

This is so precious, Syd. I love the way the dog "nurtures" the fireman and treats him like a youngster. Had to laugh when she called him a "careless lump" who doesn't take care of himself. Joyce will love your entry just as I do. Wishing you success in the contest, but I don't think you need luck with this write. Love, Carolyn

Very sweet one, and yes, the humorous element makes it different, makes it cool!
