Dog Pressed Against My Skin

Dog pressed against my skin
Not letting sunlight in
Wanting nap to begin
Much closer than my kin.

Dog hears a car engine.
Barks like it is a sin.
Settled down once again.
Dog pressed against my skin.

I have no idea how we will survive without her. I am dreading that we might outlive her. Hoping we do not.
