Dog Is Grooming

Dog is washing her paw
Noisiest loudest grooming ever.
Gulping and slurping.
Chewing and chomping.

I no longer hear the ticks of the clock.
Or the TV set. All I hear are her incessant
Mouth noises. No one has ever been
Happier to groom themselves.

This reminds me of how we nicknamed our dog "Lickety", because she would LOUDLY lick and preen when we ate anything that smelled especially good. She knew begging wasn't allowed, but licking loudly would eventually elicit sympathy (and hopefully scraps)! ;D

Our dog is the LOUDEST muncher I know. It is ridiculous!

Cats groom gently, seductively as a feline does, but dogs are noisy as they slurp, and gulp, and chomp - an insightful poem Caren and an enjoyable read. Poetry hugs, Jennifer.

Thank you Jennifer. My dog Sophie is thriving on her sucking and slurping noises.

Cute one, Caren. Those tics are no joke though, sadly we lost one of our dogs 2 years ago from a tic bite. :( Enjoyed your fun poem. :)

Thank you Charles. I do not think these are ticks; I think Sophie just enjoys sucking and slurping.

She keeps at it. I feel like she is chewing concrete out of her fur.

She is so LOUD! It sounds like she is eating walnuts off her paws.

oh my! I know that sound all too well. One time there was peanut butter accidently on Brady's paw. I did not know it either. All day he was munching and knowing and making crazy noises. He looked hilarious too. I even took him to the vet I thought something was stuck in his paw. They were like, "yeah, he has remnants of peanut butter in his paw". I was so embarrassed. But now we laugh. Cute poem sweet Caren! :) Your sign is coming soon! -luloo

Thank you Lu. I do appreciate it so much! I told my husband to watch for it. The mail people have a bad habit of leaving stuff in weird places. One time they left a package behind the house in a garden cart. When we inquired where they had left it they sent us a PHOTO of the package in the garden cart in our back yard! What? Love dogs. They are HILARIOUS!
