Simply wonderful Maureen. As a kid when I'd hear a cicada on a hot day I always thought it was the sound of the sun's sizzling heat. This poem is great!!! (A side note: when I scrolled down to validate this comment the letters were TSA lol)

Ah another twist of words lol I wasn't even thinking these thought but it certainly ties the title in tighter. I was thinking of dog day afternoons, but if he is getting the gals and the guys, he must also be getting himself, being "solo" lol.

This one rocks! We used to listen to them at twilight as a soft purple haze floated down when they used to hang out all along the watchtower. It was quite the experience. : )
