Dog At Your Door

if i give you one piece
i give you my all
and before you can say
i'll make myself small
if you say you are hungry
i won't eat for three days
i want you to have
my share of the cake
the famine won't matter
i'll lick up the plate
i hate it so much
because if you'll step
on my heart like before
i know would beg
to clean up the floor
and like a dog i would lay
on the mat by your door
